Flora is a playful and energetic 3-year-old Carolina Dog mix who weighs 46 pounds. She's a love bug who enjoys wrestling, being chased, and snuggling. Flora thrives with lots of outdoor playtime and loves activities like fetch, walks, sunbathing, and birdwatching. She's also a smart cookie who loves learning new tricks!
Ideal Home
Flora would do best in a home that is moderately active and where someone is often around. She would do well as the only pet or with a well-balanced dog of similar age, size, and energy level. Flora is nervous around new children and fearful of new people, especially when they move quickly. For this reason, an adult-only household might be best. She needs an owner who will continue positive reinforcement training to help her with her anxiety.
Ongoing Health
Flora is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. She has shown some anxiety in a crate at home, but does fine when boarded. She is fed separately from other dogs in the home.
Training & Support
Flora has shown some leash reactivity and can be spooked easily, pulling a lot on the leash. She has made progress with positive reinforcement training and does best on walks in calm environments with minimal stimuli. Consistent training is recommended to help her with leash skills and to build her confidence around new dogs and stimuli. While she needs reminders to take treats gently, she is otherwise good with people and food. She is fully housebroken.
