Meet Django! This smart and active two-year-old mixed breed, weighing in at about 50 pounds, is ready to be your loyal companion. Django has a beautiful sleek black coat with white accents and a thoughtful gaze that’s always curious about the world. He forms deep bonds with his people and greets them with boundless enthusiasm, making every return feel like the best moment of the day!
Django is a dog who thrives on both connection and purpose. He loves to snuggle close for affection or curl up for a nap once he feels safe and comfortable with his family. Adventure is just as important to him! He adores all sorts of toys and is always up for a game of fetch with balls, sticks, or frisbees. Walks, runs, and even swimming are his jam, and he proudly carries a stick or ball as if it’s his important job. His intelligence shines through in his love for training and learning. Django already knows many commands, including sit, stay, down, come, heel, place, leave it, drop it, no bark, and ok as a release cue. Positive reinforcement training keeps his mind engaged and happy.
Ideal Home
Django would thrive in a quieter, child-free, and cat-free home, ideally as the only dog. He needs an active family who understands reactive dogs and enjoys training.
Ongoing Health
Django takes daily Fluoxetine to help manage anxiety.
Training & Support
Django experiences fear-based reactivity to unfamiliar noises, unexpected distractions, and dogs encountered on leash. He also has a history of resource guarding with other dogs over food, toys, or personal space, and there was one minor nip incident with an unfamiliar person. He benefits from thoughtful management in public, a predictable routine, and continued behavior support from an experienced pet parent. Meeting guests outside first and allowing him to warm up gradually helps him feel secure.
