Meet Django!
This intelligent and active two-year-old mixed breed is a handsome boy with a sleek black coat accented with white. Django is about 50 pounds and possesses a curious nature, always observing the world around him. He forms deep bonds with his people and greets them with enthusiasm, making every reunion feel like the best moment of the day!
Django thrives on connection and purpose. He enjoys cuddling and leaning in for affection, often curling up for a nap when he feels safe and comfortable with his family. Adventure is also a big part of his life; he loves all sorts of toys and is a champion at fetch. Walks, runs, and even swimming are activities he enjoys, and he proudly carries a stick or ball as if it's his important job.
Django excels in training and learning, already knowing many cues like sit, stay, down, come, heel, place, leave it, drop it, no bark, and ok. Positive reinforcement helps keep his mind engaged and happy.
Ideal Home
Django would thrive in a quieter, child-free and cat-free home, likely as the only dog. He needs an active family who understands reactive dogs and enjoys training.
Ongoing Health
Django currently takes daily Fluoxetine to help manage anxiety.
Training & Support
Django experiences fear-based reactivity to unfamiliar noises, unexpected distractions, and dogs encountered on leash. He requires thoughtful management in public, a predictable routine, and continued behavior support from an experienced pet parent. He also has a history of resource guarding with other dogs around food, toys, or personal space, and there was one minor nip incident with an unfamiliar person. Meeting guests outside first and allowing him time to warm up helps him feel secure. With structure, exercise, and patient guidance, he continues to grow in confidence.
