Oscar is a sweet young Labrador mix with a big heart and a joyful spirit. He's approximately 1 year old and weighs 32 lbs. Oscar is very social with children, men, and women, and he builds trust almost instantly with everyone he meets. He loves being around people and enjoys spending time with other dogs. Playtime is one of his favorite things, and his friendly personality makes him an easy dog to fall in love with. Oscar has a small neurological tic due to distemper, noticeable when he is resting, but it does not affect his happy life or his loving nature. He is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our cross-country trip if adopted.
Ideal Home
Oscar would thrive in an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. A home with a fenced backyard is required. He needs a family with the intention to truly rescue a dog, with an open conscience about the needs of rescued animals and their behaviors. Families with experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, are ideal. Oscar also requires high tolerance and patience.
Ongoing Health
Oscar has a small neurological tic due to distemper, which is noticeable when he is resting. This condition does not affect his happy life or loving nature. He has completed a comprehensive health protocol including spay/neuter, multiple vaccines, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test, and is on monthly preventive protection.
Training & Support
Oscar is not house-trained. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences and need time to adapt to new environments and people. Patience and understanding are crucial to build trust and strengthen the bond.

- If it’s a match, we’ll call or video chat to introduce you to the pet and take a virtual home tour.
- We’ll speak with 1-2 of your references.
- If approved, you’ll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
Transporation
Oscar is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. He is available for transport to the East Coast of the United States as part of our scheduled cross-country trips. A transport fee of $400 USD applies. Our transport process includes door-to-door delivery, with regular updates provided to adopters.
