About Coraline
Coraline is a delightful 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix, currently weighing 45 lbs and expected to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. She's a perfect blend of sweet, curious, silly, cuddly, and endlessly entertaining, guaranteed to bring laughter into your home with her quirky charm. Coraline adores a game of peek-a-boo and celebrates with happy zoomies when you join in! She's deeply people-oriented and loves to be by your side, a gentle shadow following you around the house. While she enjoys your presence, she's not overly clingy and shows affection in sweet, subtle ways like puppy kisses or a gentle paw resting on your leg as she drifts off to sleep. Coraline possesses a remarkably calm and balanced temperament, making her an ideal work-from-home companion. She's content to entertain herself quietly with a toy or bone, though she's also incredibly social with people and other dogs, offering a calm greeting before continuing her explorations. Coraline is the best of both worlds – playful yet laid-back, independent yet loving, and goofy yet intuitive. She's ready to be your little sidekick, shadow, and best friend.
Ideal Home
Coraline is a low to medium energy pup who enjoys short bursts of playfulness, easily satisfied with zoomies in the yard. Her energy levels may increase as she matures. She would thrive in a home that appreciates a mix of adventure and relaxation, whether it's leisurely walks, hikes, patio outings, or cozy evenings on the couch. Coraline forms deep emotional bonds and loves being part of her family's daily routine. She's happy with short walks and backyard play, but also eager to join you on longer adventures like hikes or beach trips. Given her intelligence and curiosity, puzzle toys, treat dispensers, squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys will keep her happily entertained. She would benefit from a family that understands she's still building confidence in busy public areas and is willing to help her socialize and gain confidence outdoors. She would absolutely adore a family that includes her in their outdoor adventures while also appreciating her calm, affectionate nature at home. Coraline needs a home with a fenced yard. She would not do well in an apartment or condo due to potential noise sensitivity in busy areas.
Ongoing Health
Coraline is currently healthy and has no known ongoing health conditions.
Training & Support
Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained. She is still working on mastering leash training and needs additional practice to boost her confidence on walks. She is treat-motivated and walks well with positive reinforcement. She alerts her foster when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door or can use a doggy door. A consistent schedule of taking her out every 3-4 hours is recommended until she settles into her new routine. If a doggy door isn't available, a doggy doorbell can help her learn to notify you when she needs to go outside.
