About Soy
Soy is a ten-month-old puppy who makes her foster family laugh every single day — a lovable little troublemaker who climbs onto the sofa like she owns it, follows her people around from room to room, and disappears the moment she senses she is about to get in trouble. She is currently in South Korea and can fly to the U.S. with a flight volunteer once matched to a family.
Ideal Home
Soy is happiest in a home with at least one other dog. She leans heavily on her canine companions and becomes genuinely anxious when left alone without them. If she goes to a single-dog home, her adopter should expect to be home for most of the day, at least during the adjustment period. She needs a family patient enough to let her come to them first and experienced enough with dogs to read her signals and handle introductions calmly. She is not the right fit for a home that will rush her, startle her, or expect immediate warmth. She is also not recommended for homes with cats.
Ongoing Health
Currently healthy with no known medical concerns. No known allergies. She receives monthly parasite prevention with NexGard year-round.
Training & Support
Soy is fear-sensitive in new and unfamiliar situations. She needs time to feel comfortable with new people and should always be allowed to approach on her own terms. Please do not reach for her, initiate physical contact, or handle her before she has warmed up to you. With patience and a calm approach, she comes around readily and becomes deeply affectionate. She responds the same way with women, men, and children. Limited exposure to children, but she does best with calm kids who let her set the pace. Homes with very young children who may grab at her or move unpredictably are not the right match.
She is making great progress with outdoor potty training and now strongly prefers going outside. She may have occasional indoor accidents if left alone for long stretches, but goes fully outdoor on weekends and when yard access is available.
She is still in the teething phase and mouths everything within reach: tissues, slippers, plastic bags, and items left on low tables. Food packaging left unsecured will be investigated.
She has separation anxiety when left completely alone and becomes anxious and vocal. When another dog is present she is calm and settled for up to 10 hours. A multi-dog home or a person home for most of the day is strongly recommended.
Barking: barks briefly while waiting for meals, at outdoor sounds, and when unfamiliar people enter the home. Settles once the situation is familiar.
She eats fast and loves food deeply — portion control and weight monitoring will matter as she grows.
Soy needs at least 60 minutes of daily exercise. She loves walks, wants to greet every dog she passes, and will chase birds, butterflies, and anything that moves. She picks up food off the ground, so watch her closely on walks. She startles at sudden loud noises or fast movements outdoors — keep her leash secure at all times.
Application Details:
- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- All approved adopters begin with a two-week trial and monitoring period to help ensure a safe, thoughtful, and long-term match while Soy adjusts to her new environment and family.
