Camila and Regina are a bonded pair of sweet, affectionate, and very social Shih Tzu girls, approximately 1 year old and 10 months old respectively. Camila weighs about 8.6 lbs and has a white coat with dark brown markings, while Regina is about 8.2 lbs and has a white coat with light brown markings. They were found wandering together in Saltillo, Mexico, and after no owner could be found, they were rescued and brought to the shelter. These two love greeting people with excitement and happiness, enjoy being held and cuddled, and their favorite thing is spending time with their people. They walk well on a leash, are comfortable in a crate, travel nicely in the car, get along well with other dogs, and enjoy meeting new people.
Ideal Home
A home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. They are looking for a family with a real intention to rescue and understand the needs of street animals, possessing experience in dog behavior and training or a willingness to hire a trainer. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential. They are not house-trained and require significant patience.
Ongoing Health
Camila and Regina have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and microchipped. They have tested negative for heartworm and 4DX, and are on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive. They have received a health certificate and a vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Camila and Regina are not house-trained and require significant patience as they adjust. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may have experienced trauma and need time to adapt. Providing a safe and loving environment, establishing a routine, and being patient will help build trust.

- If approved, you'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
Transportation
Camila and Regina are currently fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. They are out-of-town pets ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip if adopted. We offer door-to-door delivery for a fee of $400 USD. This includes scheduled trips 3-4 times a year with a contracted transport company that will escort them across the border into Texas. We provide real-time updates through a private Facebook Messenger group, and the transport team will deliver them directly to your home.
