My name is Rex, and I'm a handsome 3-year-old pup looking for my forever family! My foster mom thinks I might be a bit younger, and my DNA test shows I'm a unique blend of American Pit Bull Terrier, Tree Walker Coonhound, Great Pyrenees, and Boxer. I arrived weighing 47lbs but have since reached a healthy 53lbs. I'm a champion snuggler and love being close to my people. I don't beg for food and am generally a well-behaved boy. I'm still learning not to jump on my foster mom when she returns, as my foster sister does it too, and I'm working on understanding that some people, especially men, just want to pet me, not hurt me. I also enjoy car rides, as long as I'm safely buckled in with a seatbelt when the windows are open!
Ideal Home
I'd love a home with a puppy sibling, ideally my size or larger, to continue showing me the ropes. If that's not possible, a family that is home often and has a fenced-in yard would be wonderful. I don't need a ton of exercise but I do enjoy walks, hikes, and exploring with my great stamina. I'm happy to sleep close by during the day or night, and I prefer not to be crated away from my family.

Training & Support
I'm working on basic commands, though I get a bit nervous when asked to "sit." I'm also learning that feral cats and wildlife are not for chasing, and I'm doing well when told to "leave it." My Tree Walker Coonhound nose can sometimes get the best of me on trails, so recall is a work in progress, but I'm improving with off-leash time in my yard and on hikes.
