What's up, guys?! My name is Thunder! I've been with TIRR Rescue since 2018, and while I'm a sanctuary dog who needs a special sponsor, I'm ready to find my forever person! When I first arrived, I was a very scared pup and didn't want anyone to touch me. Some people thought I was aggressive, but one kind soul recognized my fear and brought me to TIRR so I could learn to trust, love, and have fun again. I'm much better now, though I'm still a bit wary around new people – please don't touch me until I approach you! I absolutely love to have fun and can be a bit of a goofball sometimes. I'm a ladies' man at heart and would love a home with an active person. As a typical Ridgeback, I'll need an owner who is very familiar with the breed and can be a strong leader with proper training.

Ideal Home

I need an active person who understands the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed and can be a strong leader. I'm not a good fit for homes with children.

Ongoing Health

I am a sanctuary dog with chronic health conditions and require a sponsor.

Training & Support

I can be wary of strangers and need gentle introductions. I also need an owner familiar with my breed who can provide consistent training.
