Nala Mae

Nala is a 6-year-old, spayed female Rottweiler mix who weighs around 46 pounds. She is a truly special dog, known for her sweet, gentle, and well-mannered nature. Nala settles into family life with remarkable ease, bringing an abundance of love to give. She has an easygoing personality and wonderful manners that make her a joy to be around.

Nala enjoys playing with other dogs and has a fun, playful side, but she's equally content to relax once playtime is over. She's shown to be friendly and respectful with smaller dogs, expertly reading social cues and knowing when another dog needs a break. Walks with Nala are a pleasure, as she's completely non-reactive and exhibits excellent leash manners.

She has a proven track record with children, having lived with kids ages 6 and 8, and has also spent time with a 5-year-old. Her foster describes her as incredibly gentle, patient, and loving with kids, making her a wonderful potential addition to a family with children of any age.

Nala is fully house-trained and does well in her crate. While she might initially bark or cry for a few minutes when first crated or left alone, she quickly settles down. This mild separation anxiety is expected to improve as she becomes more accustomed to a consistent routine.

Her intelligence is one of her most impressive qualities. Nala is eager to please and responds beautifully to verbal cues, like "go lay down," happily complying. She listens well, making her a true delight to live with. She loves playing with balls, enjoys car rides, navigates stairs with ease, and greets everyone with kindness. In fact, her foster hasn't even heard her bark! Nala is an easy companion, walking beautifully on a harness and riding perfectly in the car.

Ideal Home

Nala would thrive in a home with a moderate activity level where she can enjoy daily walks and ample time with her people. While she would likely enjoy having another friendly dog companion, it's not a requirement.

Nala is spayed and up to date on all vaccinations.

Training & Support

Nala is house-trained and crate-trained, though she may experience mild separation anxiety initially. She is eager to please and responds well to commands.

• Transports run every few weeks, and approved adopters will be placed on the next available transport. If you have specific timing needs, please apply closer to that time.
• We are a volunteer-run rescue and dedicate our time to these dogs. Serious inquiries only.

• A virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the adoption process.
