Vaquero

Vaquero is a charming 5-year-old, 46 lb Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart of gold. He was found in a dire state in Edinburg, Texas, suffering from severe mange and malnutrition. Thankfully, Vaquero has made a remarkable recovery and is now a completely different dog! What was once a timid and scared pup has transformed into a confident and affectionate companion who loves to interact with everyone he meets. He relishes attention and is eager for pets and cuddles.

Ideal Home

Vaquero would thrive in a home with older, gentle children. While he enjoys playtime, he's also a "Netflix and chill" kind of guy who loves to relax and hang out. He gets along wonderfully with both small and large dogs and has shown to be fine with kitties.

Ongoing Health

Vaquero has no long-term effects from his past struggles. He has been neutered, is heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. He's also microchipped and up-to-date on dewormer. He will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian before transport.

Training & Support

Vaquero is house-trained and a true lover of treats. He also adores car rides and gazing out the window.

Transporation

Vaquero is currently in Texas, but we do not adopt animals within Texas due to the high euthanasia rates. We adopt exclusively in the Central US and on the East Coast. The adoption fee of $395 includes transport from Texas to the following locations every 2-3 weeks:

• Wells and Brattleboro, VT
• Willington, New Haven, and Dayville, CT
• Port Chester, NY
• Dayton and Akron, OH
• Grove City and Bloomsburg, PA
• Ridgefield and Mt Laurel, NJ
