Hi there! My name is Dancer, and I'm a wonderfully cuddly 2.5-year-old, 58-pound lap dog looking for my forever home! My journey to you started when I was found as a stray in Minneapolis. Life at the shelter was a bit overwhelming for me, and I ended up on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, some wonderful people stepped in, and I made my way to Iowa in January! My foster family has been teaching me so much, and I've become quite the well-behaved pup. I'm crate trained and happy to sleep in my crate at night or when you're away, but I also love snuggling up next to you! I know "sit," "down," "place," and "shake." I walk nicely on a leash and am practicing not getting too excited when I see other dogs on our walks. I'm very motivated by treats and take them gently. Bonus: I'm also cat-friendly!
Ideal Home
I'm looking for an experienced owner who has a training plan ready for me. While I love to play, I need daily exercise and prefer walks over playing in the yard. I get along with my current foster's dominant male dog, but it took time, and I didn't do well meeting another dominant dog. For this reason, I would do best as the only dog in the home or with a very laid-back canine companion.

Training & Support
I'm still working on not jumping up when guests arrive and staying calm. I also have a tendency to get a little too excited and may use my "teefers" (I don't bite, but I might make contact) if we roughhouse. I'm also learning to resist the urge to jump on counters and am working on toy destruction (I have a tendency to shred them!). With some patience and consistent training, I'm sure I'll master these in no time!
