Hi there! I'm Chico, a small dog with a big personality and an even bigger collection of quirks. A while back, I had a back injury. It healed, but I ended up with my own unique way of getting around. My foster mom says I sometimes look like the little hand from The Addams Family! I'm not your typical dog; I’m more like a quiet little creature who wants a cozy life, a calm home, and a human who thinks “weird” is something wonderful. I enjoy peace, quiet, soft beds, and predictable dinners. I do not enjoy chaos, noise, being rushed, walking fast, or walking at all, actually! I'm pretty low-maintenance, as long as your definition of low-maintenance includes carrying me outside to pee like a tiny, slightly judgmental prince.
Let's talk about my potty habits. My poop looks like rabbit pellets, so at least cleanup is manageable! If I must go indoors because the weather is disagreeable, I try my best. As for peeing, I'm working on it. My foster mom puts potty pads down for me, and I'm great at using them. However, if I'm left alone too long during the day, accidents can happen. I believe in honesty!
Now, about food. I'm a picky eater with a capital P! I love soft food until I don't, and then I'll refuse to eat it, leading to a dramatic hunger strike. A crucial tip: do not buy food in bulk. The moment you commit to a large supply is the exact moment I will decide I hate it.
Ideal Home
I do best in a home that is very quiet, very calm, and very patient. A fenced yard is a plus because I do better pottying off-leash. I need a home with no kids and someone who is home often. I am not a hiking buddy, jogging partner, or even a "short walk around the block" kind of guy.
Ongoing Health
I had a back injury in the past, which resulted in my unique way of moving. My vet checked me after my previous injury, and nothing unusual showed up.
Training & Support
I'm still working on my potty habits, especially when left alone for extended periods. While I'm good about using potty pads, accidents can happen. I'm also very picky about my food and can go on hunger strikes if I decide I don't like what I'm given. It's best to buy food in small quantities. I won't fetch or do tricks, but I will be your quiet, quirky companion, give a happy wiggle at dinnertime, sleep peacefully nearby, and love you with all my odd little ways.
