Olivia is a 2-3 year old, 40lb female Weimaraner mix who was rescued in Saltillo, Mexico in September 2023. She was found in urgent need of rescue, potentially with a spinal or hip injury, and had been abandoned by her owners. Despite being malnourished and fearful upon arrival, Olivia has blossomed into a clean, affectionate, adorable, and funny companion. She's an independent dog who doesn't let her condition limit her, approaching life with joy and gratitude. Olivia is playful, full of life, and eager to share her love and attention.
Ideal Home
Olivia would do best as the only dog in the home. A fenced backyard is a must. Adopters should be willing to be patient for at least 3 months to allow her to fully show her personality, and should have experience with dog behavior and training. A high tolerance and patience for a rescued animal is also essential.
Ongoing Health
Olivia has a potential spinal or hip injury. She has undergone extensive veterinary care, including spay/neuter, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, a 4DX test, and a negative heartworm test. She is on monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention and has a health certificate.
Training & Support
Olivia is not house-trained. The foster organization acknowledges that they are unable to house-train every rescued pet due to the sheer number of animals in their care. Adopters should be prepared to provide consistent guidance and training.
