Molly is a 2-year-old, 55 lb spayed female pit bull mix. She's a muscular beauty with short legs, a big head, and an even bigger heart! Her DNA shows she's primarily American Pit Bull Terrier and American Staffordshire Terrier, with a touch of Bulldog. Molly is incredibly friendly and wonderful with people, including strangers and her vet. She's tolerant of grooming, including baths and nail trims with a little peanut butter distraction. She's also crate and house-trained, and not destructive.
Ideal Home
Molly needs to be the only pet in the home, as she has big feelings about other dogs and a high prey drive. This means no other dogs, cats, or small animals. She would thrive in a quieter area with minimal dog traffic past the home. A large, private, fenced-in yard is a must for her to run, play, and explore. An experienced adopter who can continue her reactivity training and provide a stable routine is essential. A home with land for leash walks would be a huge bonus.
Ongoing Health
Molly is a healthy girl! She is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Molly has received professional training and knows many cues, including sit, down, stay, place, drop it, heel, kennel, wait, and leave it. She has also completed a Reactive Rovers training class. She is muzzle-trained and has shown no signs of resource guarding. While she is a treat and toy-motivated learner, her reactivity requires ongoing management and training. A consistent routine is key to her success and helps improve her reactivity.
