If you look up the origin of the name Juno, you'll find that it has its ancient roots. In Roman mythology, Juno was the queen of the gods, the wife and sister of Jupiter, and the mother of Mars and Vulcan. She was revered as the protector of women, marriage, childbirth, and the Roman state, symbolizing authority, nurturing strength, and feminine power. We're not sure if the person who named her was thinking of this historical information when she named Juno, but she certainly embodies some of her name's ancient traits in that she is quite self-confident and protective of her home and pack. For this reason, she needs to be an only dog and would prefer a home where she does not have a lot of human "comings and goings." With people she knows, Juno is a happy gal who doesn't need a ton of exercise but loves to spend time with her family. She likes to go for walks, but she is also happy to find a sunny spot to lay and ponder life while chewing on a bone. Juno is extremely well behaved in a car and she walks like a pro on a leash. However, be aware that she is an enthusiastic and mighty chewer, so she will need only the most durable of toys and bones to ensure they survive more than a few minutes! One more thing - Juno makes some of the most unusual noises, which just adds to her charm. Come on down and meet this beautiful chocolate-colored lady!
