Buttons

Buttons is a four-year-old American Bulldog mix who is a happy and energetic girl looking for her forever home! She came to us because she had a bit too much energy for her previous situation and would greatly benefit from an active family and a fenced-in yard where she can safely burn off some of that enthusiasm. Buttons weighs around 60 pounds and absolutely loves kids, but due to her initial excitement and size, she's recommended for older children who can handle her exuberance. She is a strong puller on the leash and would benefit from someone willing to work on leash training with a gentle leader or other methods. When out for walks, Buttons gets very excited by other dogs and children and wants to greet them. She enjoys the company of other dogs and would love a playful canine friend to run and play with. Buttons has done well in a crate, though she may vocalize a bit when her humans leave. She will also need a refresher on housetraining as she adjusts to a new home environment and routine.

Ideal Home

An active family with a fenced-in yard would be ideal for Buttons. She is recommended for homes with older children.

Ongoing Health

Buttons has had surgery on both of her ACLs in 2020 and is doing fantastic!

Training & Support

Buttons pulls hard on the leash and gets excited when she sees other dogs and children, wanting to greet them. She will need someone willing to work on leash training with a gentle leader or other methods. She will also need a refresher on housetraining as she adjusts to a new home.
