Meet Christmas - NYC ACC Alum
Christmas is the kind of dog who makes people smile wherever he goes. At approximately 2 years old, this handsome gray-and-white boy is packed full of personality, affection, and enough goofy charm to keep you laughing every day. He's affectionate, athletic, adventurous, clever, curious, playful, snuggly, resilient, and communicative (his little gremlin noises are legendary). At home, Christmas is a wonderful companion. He enjoys playing with toys, chewing on bones, solving puzzles, wrestling with dog friends, and then curling up for a nap nearby. He's house-trained, crate-trained, and can relax quietly while his people work. He sleeps well through the night and loves being part of the daily routine. While Christmas is thriving in foster care, we've learned something important about him: he is not a city dog. The constant sights, sounds, smells, people, and dogs of NYC keep him perpetually on high alert. Outside, he becomes overstimulated quickly and struggles to focus on his handler, making walks stressful for both him and the person holding the leash. He isn't looking for trouble—he's simply taking in everything around him all at once. Because of this, we believe Christmas would be happiest in a quieter suburban or rural home where he doesn't have to navigate the chaos of city life every day. A fenced yard would be a huge bonus, giving him space to run, play, and decompress. Christmas has so much potential and so much love to give. He isn't a difficult dog—he's simply a dog who needs the right environment to succeed. Give him a little space, a little structure, and a family to call his own, and you'll discover an incredibly loyal, loving best friend. Christmas has been waiting long enough. Let's help him find the home he deserves.
