Wanda is a sweet 2-3 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix who weighs about 38 pounds. She was found wandering the streets, malnourished and covered in ticks and fleas, looking for shelter and food. Despite her rough start, Wanda is a very active, playful, energetic, and loving dog who is social with adults. She would do best as the only dog in the home, as she is not social with larger dogs and while she's been fine with small dogs, it's preferred she be the sole canine companion.
Ideal Home
Wanda would thrive in an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and daily walks. A home with a fenced backyard is essential. Families with experience handling the breed and a strong understanding of the needs and behaviors of rescued street animals are highly preferred. Experience with dog behavior and training, along with high tolerance and patience for rescued pups, are also important.
Ongoing Health
Wanda has received extensive veterinary care, including being spayed, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and tested for various diseases (4DX, Heartworm negative). She is on monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention and comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Wanda is not house-trained and will require patience and consistency in this area. The rescue emphasizes that due to the high number of animals they care for, house-training each one is not feasible. Potential adopters should be prepared to dedicate time and effort to her training and integration into the home.
