About ROOSTER

Rooster is a 1-year and 5-month-old Australian Cattle Dog with all the smarts, drive, and intensity you’d expect from the breed—and a heart that’s still learning to trust new people at his own pace. He can be aloof when first meeting someone new, but once he feels safe and builds that bond, his loyalty shines through. Rooster just needs a little time and patience to show you who he really is. He is potty trained and was surrendered to the shelter due to his strong herding instincts, so he will thrive in a home that understands and respects those natural behaviors. Rooster isn’t a “right away” kind of dog—but for the right person, he’s the kind of dog who forms a deep, loyal bond that lasts a lifetime.

Ideal Home

Rooster would do best in a home with:

  • No small children
  • Herding-breed or working-dog experienced adopters
  • Structure, consistency, and mental/physical enrichment
  • A calm introduction process with new people

He does best with female dogs, and would benefit from a compatible canine companion or structured dog interactions.

Ongoing Health

Rooster is neutered.
