My name is Phil, but my foster mom calls me Philbert or No Filter Phil. I have the most adorable Gremlin ears that rarely go down! I was found with my sister and have had quite the adventure with foster families, but I'm so grateful for the love and care I've received. Now, I'm ready to share that love with my forever family! I'm a submissive boy who is learning to build confidence and security. I'm motivated by positive reinforcement and love to learn.
Ideal Home
My ideal home would have me as the only dog, where I can soak up all the attention. I love having comfy spots to watch the world go by or cuddle up. I also enjoy being with my people and am an excellent backseat driver, so road trips are a must!
Ongoing Health
I am a healthy boy and have no ongoing health concerns to report.
Training & Support
I'm crate trained and sleep in my crate at night, though I initially struggled with it as I wanted to be with my humans all the time. I'm learning patience and confidence that my people will always return. I'm great at sitting and we're working on more advanced skills like "leave it" and "stay." I'm also practicing boundary training and heeling. I'm easy to train because I love working for treats and catch on quickly. A gentle "uh-uh" is enough to let me know when I'm being sneaky. I'd benefit from doggy classes to socialize with other dogs and people. I haven't quite figured out how to play with toys yet, but I do enjoy squeaky toys and carrying them around. I'm also learning to enjoy chew toys soaked in broth. I have not chewed or destroyed anything in the house. I am potty trained and we are working on bell training. I thrive on a stable routine, which helps ease any anxiety. I will let canine companions know when I am uncomfortable.
