Buddy Edward is a middle-aged Shih Tzu with a lot of personality and a bit of a belly! He snorts, he waddles, and he's working on his weight with a special diet and kibble. Buddy came to us weighing 18 lbs, but our vet says his bloodwork looks great. We're committed to helping him shed those extra pounds to ensure a long and healthy life.
Buddy has beautiful curly white and tan fur. He had some bald spots from past skin infections, but they've grown back beautifully. As a Shih Tzu, he'll require regular professional grooming to keep his coat looking its best. Please note, we don't perform DNA testing, so his breed is based on information from his previous owner and vet.
Ideal Home
Buddy is a social butterfly who gets along with cats, small dogs, and big dogs! He adores attention and loves nothing more than snuggling on his foster mom's lap. He's looking for a committed family who will cherish him.
Ongoing Health
Buddy is up-to-date on all his vaccinations, has been dewormed, microchipped, and neutered. He tested negative for heartworms and is on prevention. His weight is a current health focus, and his new family will need to continue his diet and exercise plan.
Training & Support
Great news! Buddy is already leash-trained and potty-trained. He loves car rides and is eager to go anywhere with his people.

Transportation
Buddy is currently being fostered in Texas. Adoption fees include transportation options to the Pacific Northwest (WA, UT, ID), the Midwest (MN, WI, MI, OH, IL, IN), or select New England States (NY, NJ, CT, VA, VT) through our transport partners. Buddy is also eligible for travel with Southwest Airlines from Houston to any major airport approved by SWAAT, given his size. Canadian adopters will need to arrange to meet us at a designated location within the USA.
