Argiro

Meet Argiro, a handsome 2-year-old Retriever/Shepherd mix who was picked up as a stray and is now ready to find his forever home. He's a sweet, affectionate pup who loves being with people and has quickly earned the nickname "my shadow" because he wants to be wherever you are. Argiro is learning what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family. Every day he grows more relaxed and confident. While he can still be a bit rambunctious, he's settling down beautifully and has gone from only relaxing for a few minutes at a time to happily lounging for nearly an hour. He's a quick learner who is eager to please and already knows "sit" and "shake."

Ideal Home

Argiro enjoys walks and would love a home with a securely fenced yard where his long legs can really stretch out. Because of his curiosity and speed, a feline-free home is the safest choice.

Ongoing Health

Argiro has been neutered, brought up-to-date on vaccinations, and micro-chipped. He finished his heartworm treatment and is now in the northeast and ready to be adopted. Argiro has been given a Proheart-6 injection for 6 months of heartworm prevention.

Training & Support

Like many dogs who have experienced food insecurity, Argiro is very enthusiastic about meals and treats. Because he likely never knew where his next meal would come from, he tends to eat quickly and can be a little overexcited when taking treats. His foster mom has already begun teaching him the cue "gentle," and he's catching on incredibly fast. He'll need an adopter who will continue this training with patience, positive guidance, and consistency.
