Gumball is a young, handsome pup, estimated to be around 1-2 years old and weighing in at about 53 pounds of pure love and personality. We suspect he may be a Lab mix, and we're currently waiting on his DNA results to confirm! Gumball and his brother Darwin were found as strays on the streets of Brooklyn, NY. They were both very shy and fearful, but thankfully, they were rescued and are now ready to find their forever homes. Gumball is the perfect balance of energy and affection. Outside, he loves running, playing, hiking, and going on long, sniff-filled walks. Inside, he transforms into a laid-back companion who's happy to relax with a toy, chew on a bone, or curl up for a nap right by your side. He sleeps through the night on the bed right next to you or happily on his dog bed. He loves to play with his toys, throwing them in the air and trying to catch them, and he also loves to hold your hand. He has slight separation anxiety which is improving, and he is almost fully potty trained. He would do best in an active home that can give him the exercise and engagement he needs, whether that's daily walks, outdoor adventures, or a yard where he can run and play. Gumball needs a patient and loving adopter who will give him a little time to settle in and feel safe. Once he trusts you, he becomes a total Velcro dog – loyal, affectionate, and always by your side.
Ideal Home
Gumball would do best in an active home that can provide him with plenty of exercise and engagement. An apartment is fine as long as the owner is active. A home with a yard is also a great option if long walks and adventures aren't possible. A home with another playful dog would be great for him but is not required.
Ongoing Health
Gumball is neutered. He is almost fully potty trained. He has slight separation anxiety which is improving.
Training & Support
Gumball is still learning leash manners and can be excited when he sees other dogs, but he is not aggressive. He is learning not to try and eat everything he finds on walks. He is not crate trained yet. He is very food-motivated, which makes training a rewarding experience.
