Abbie is a sweet Dachshund mix who is looking for a patient and understanding family to help her transition into her next chapter. As a retired breeder, she is still learning what it means to be a companion pet and hasn't had much experience in a typical home environment. This means she'll need time, patience, and consistency to learn household routines, leash walking, coming when called, and to adjust to new experiences.

Ideal Home

Abbie would thrive in an adult-only home with no children under 15. This is not due to aggression, but because she hasn't been exposed to children, and a calm, predictable environment will help her build confidence at her own pace. A fenced-in yard is strongly recommended to keep her safe while she learns the basics, especially since she is still working on leash walking and recall.
