This soulful three-and-a-half-year-old Border Collie/Rottweiler mix is a 70-pound merle wonder with a calm, loving heart. Jasper is the kind of dog who will melt into your side on a cozy evening and follow you room to room just to be close, offering the gentle spirit of a wise old friend and the quiet loyalty of a true companion. He forms deep, meaningful bonds with his people and enjoys the company of children, but he would do best with calm or older kids who understand boundaries and treat him gently. Loud or high-energy play can make him uneasy, so a respectful home environment will help him feel safe and content. He's a mellow guy who doesn't need much to be happy: a soft spot to relax, the comforting presence of his caregiver, and perhaps a treat puzzle or two to keep his clever brain engaged. Food-motivated and intelligent, Jasper knows a delightful list of commands like sit, stay, paw, spin, and even middle!

Training & Support
Jasper is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and content when left alone. While he doesn't require intense exercise, he does enjoy slow, sniffy walks. Jasper has developed reactivity to unfamiliar dogs due to past traumatic incidents. He may bark or lunge when he sees them, especially near fences or in close proximity. He is continuing to work through this with training and patient support. He has done well with familiar dogs in controlled settings, showing he can feel safe with the right structure and trust.
