Nonnie is a delightful French Bulldog who is over 5 years old and ready to bring joy and laughter into her new home. She's full of personality, animated, and has a playful energy that makes her incredibly fun to live with. Nonnie loves car rides, enjoys adventures, and will happily chase a ball with enthusiasm. She is confident, expressive, and deeply bonded to her people. Though she is deaf, she is exceptionally attentive and responsive, expertly reading hand signals and body language, often responding faster than hearing dogs. She is highly observant and very in tune with her surroundings. Nonnie has no aggressive behaviors. She was not produced by our program and has transitioned through multiple homes prior to joining us. After she joined our family, we discovered she is deaf, and we informed her previous owner and breeder, who were unaware of her hearing impairment. Since then, Nonnie has adapted exceptionally well with structure, consistency, and visual-based communication, responding beautifully to hand signals and body language.
Ideal Home
Nonnie thrives with routine, clarity, and connection. She would do especially well in a home with a compatible male dog. A submissive or younger female may be considered on a case-by-case basis. She is a confident, dominant female and does not do well in a large pack setting.
Ongoing Health
Nonnie is overall a healthy, active female with no chronic medical conditions. Aside from being deaf, she has no structural or systemic health concerns. She has experienced mild seasonal allergies, which have occasionally presented as yeasty feet and minor hair thinning along her back during the spring months. Two years ago, she received an allergy injection when she developed small patchy hair loss, but she has not required additional treatment since. As a precaution, Nonnie is maintained on a salmon-based diet. She is current on routine veterinary care and preventatives. Nonnie is not yet spayed, but the plan is for her to be altered prior to placement unless a qualified home prefers to assume responsibility for her spay, which may be discussed and agreed upon in writing.
Training & Support
Nonnie is confident and dominant and can be protective over food or her primary person. This is not reactive or unpredictable behavior; she simply requires clear boundaries and an owner who understands canine communication and structure. With proper management and leadership, she does very well.
