DOUGAL

Dougal is a wonderful, approximately 2-year-old Sheepadoodle weighing in at 75 lbs. He's a laid-back and easy-going guy who gets along with all the other rescue dogs. He's so good that his foster family often forgets he's around! Dougal isn't a fan of the midday heat, preferring to stay cool inside, but he loves to come out in the late afternoon to play with his friends, enjoy some chew treats, and chase squirrels. He seems to be well-house trained and generally good on a leash, though he does tend to pull and would benefit from a handler with a strong, guiding hand.

Ideal Home

Dougal needs a securely fenced yard to enjoy his outdoor playtime. He also cannot be placed in a home with children under the age of 8.

Ongoing Health

Dougal previously tested positive for heartworms and has completed his treatment according to the American Heartworm Society protocols. We typically see dogs test negative within 4 to 6 months after treatment.

Training & Support

While Dougal is generally well-behaved, he does pull on the leash and will need continued training for a strong and steady walk.
