Duque

Duque is a handsome 4-year-old English Shepherd mix with a striking black and white coat and luxuriously thick fur. Weighing in at about 42 lbs, he's a good-sized companion who is already potty and leash trained. Duque is a wonderfully friendly and adaptable boy who settles in quickly and loves to shower his people with affection. He thrives on being petted and enjoys spending quality time with his family. Duque also loves to stay active and would be thrilled to go on daily adventures and walks with his new family. He's a well-balanced dog seeking a loving home where he can continue to receive plenty of affection and companionship.

Ideal Home

A home with a fenced backyard is essential for Duque. He would do best with an active family who enjoys outdoor activities and has a genuine intention to rescue and provide ongoing education and protection for a dog. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly preferred, or a willingness to hire a professional trainer to help this intelligent dog reach his full potential. A high tolerance for and patience with rescued puppies are also important.

Ongoing Health

Duque has undergone a comprehensive health protocol, including being spayed/neutered, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and microchipped. He has tested negative for heartworm and received a 4DX test. He is also up-to-date on monthly preventive protection with Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He has a health certificate and vaccine booklet. Please note that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past experiences and may need time to adapt to a new environment. Patience and understanding are crucial to help build trust and a strong bond.

Training & Support

Duque is potty and leash trained. However, it's important to understand that not all rescued pets are house-trained, and he may require additional work in this area. Due to his past experiences, Duque may have fears or anxieties, and patience and understanding will be key during his adjustment period. Establishing a routine and clear boundaries will help him feel secure.

• You will need to fill out an adoption form and provide photos/videos of your home.
• If it's a match, we will arrange a call or video chat to introduce you to the pet and conduct a virtual home tour.
• We will speak with 1-2 of your references.
• If approved, you will sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.

Transportation

Duque is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. He is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. We offer door-to-door delivery, organizing 3-4 trips per year with a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. Our contracted transport company will collect adopted pets from Mexico and escort them across the border into Texas for US adoptions. For Canadian adoptions, pets will be delivered to the nearest US-Canada border. Each pet will have all necessary legal documents, including a Transport Contract, USDA Health Certificate, and health protocol certificates. We provide real-time updates through a private Facebook Messenger group, and the transport team will conduct a final home review upon delivery. The transport fee is $400 USD.
