Meet Smiley Wiley, a charming and affectionate 1-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing around 65 lbs. Wiley is a real showstopper with a personality to match his handsome looks. He's athletic, loyal, and ready for adventure, but also loves to cuddle up after a long day. Wiley's signature move is his incredible bear hugs, which are guaranteed to brighten your day! He's also a social butterfly with other dogs, enjoying playful wrestling and chase games, just like a typical Shepherd.

Ideal Home

Smiley Wiley would thrive in a home with a confident and playful female dog who enjoys both energetic play and quiet companionship. He would also do well with older children, ages 15 and up, who can understand and respect his need for personal space. A home with a large backyard for him to explore and relax in would be ideal. Wiley is not a good match for homes with cats.

Ongoing Health

Smiley Wiley is up-to-date on all his vetting, which includes DAPP vaccines with boosters, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, flea and tick prevention, and a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative. He has also been tested for heartworms and treated if necessary.

Training & Support

Wiley responds exceptionally well to confident leadership and structure. He's a smart boy who already knows commands like sit, down, and wait, and he's highly treat-motivated. His ability to make eye contact while training makes him a joy to work with. Having another confident dog in the home will help Wiley build his confidence in new situations.

Our rescue offers a USDA-certified transport system with drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada. Adopters in Canada can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT.
