Toby is a delightful 1-year-old French mix, weighing in at 11 lbs. He's a bundle of love, energy, and kisses, always ready for a good time! Toby absolutely loves going for walks, playing with other dogs, and his absolute favorite? He adores men!
Toby's journey to us was a bit ruff. He was abandoned and later injured by a car, requiring dedicated care to recover. Thankfully, he's made a full recovery and is now healthy, though he sometimes has bursts of anxious energy. What Toby truly needs is an active and patient family who can help him channel all his wonderful energy into play, walks, and lots of love. He's affectionate, loyal, and so deserving of a second chance at a happy, forever home.
Ideal Home
Toby would thrive in a home with an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a securely fenced backyard that is at least 6 feet tall. He needs a family with a genuine commitment to rescue and a deep understanding of the needs of street animals, including their potential for needing protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly valued, or a willingness to hire a professional trainer is a must for this intelligent boy. A high level of tolerance and patience for rescued puppies is essential.
Ongoing Health
Toby has completed his spay/neuter certificate, received 2 DHPPI vaccines, a rabies vaccine, and a Bordetella vaccine. He has also been dewormed and microchipped. He tested negative for heartworm and has a negative 4DX test certificate. He receives monthly preventive protection with Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
It's important to understand that rescued dogs, like Toby, may require an adjustment period in their new home. They may have fears or anxieties due to past experiences and need time to adapt. Patience, understanding, and establishing a consistent routine with clear boundaries will be crucial in helping Toby build trust and feel secure. While not explicitly stated as needing work, it's mentioned that rescued dogs are not always potty trained, so patience and a willingness to work on house training are key.
