Molly Olly Oxen Free

Molly is an adorable 8-year-old Cocker Spaniel who came to us from a shelter, where she was surrendered with a significant amount of matted fur that required extensive grooming. She's a sweet girl who loves to give kisses! Molly walks well on a leash and is a great car rider. She would do best in an experienced home that is familiar with the breed and can appreciate a dog with a little bit of personality. She's a true princess and will certainly let her presence be known!

Ideal Home

Molly needs an experienced home that understands the Cocker Spaniel breed and can provide her with consistent guidance. She would do best in a home without children, as she was surrendered due to resource guarding food from a child.

Ongoing Health

Molly has been spayed, vaccinated, and recently had a dental cleaning.

Training & Support

Molly resource guards her food and will defend it from both dogs and people. She is comfortable eating alone in her kennel and has no issues going into her kennel for food or treats. She has previously bitten strangers who approached her kennel. The solution that has worked for us is to allow her out of the kennel and then ignore her while she eats. She does not charge out of the kennel, but simply does not feel comfortable with strangers in her space. Removing the barrier of the kennel while she eats seems to help. Once she has had a chance to get to know you, she has no issues and enjoys giving kisses and cuddles. She is a smart, affectionate girl and we believe she would enjoy sleeping in bed with her person.
