Wonton is a fun-loving and silly pup who really wants to be friends, but sometimes he gets in his own way! He was found with his siblings locked in a shed, with no vet care or positive socialization. Wonton and his siblings are going to need a very specific kind of home where they can learn to trust and feel safe.
Ideal Home
Wonton needs a patient and understanding home that can provide him with a lot of structure and reassurance. He needs to stay in a martingale collar and leash drag until he is fully bonded to his people and his new environment. He is NOT allowed off leash. Wonton also requires a HOLD space for him, for longer than most dogs. Because he has never been without his siblings, he will need time to adjust to being without them. He also only knows how to play the way he did with his siblings, so he will need patience and a solid dog companion to help him learn. He struggles with interactions with humans and is much more comfortable with other dogs. Wonton came from a quiet area and is easily stressed by traffic, people, and general "normal" life. He should be treated more like a cat than a dog – no outings, and allowed to get comfortable at home without the chaos of the outside world. No walks should be considered until he has truly settled in. For his first 8 months, he should wear a tracking device 24/7.
Ongoing Health
Wonton has not had any previous vet care and will need to establish a relationship with a veterinarian.
Training & Support
Wonton will need significant patience and guidance as he learns to trust and interact with humans. He will also need help learning how to play and socialize appropriately with other dogs. Due to his past experiences, he will be fearful of many new things and require a slow, gentle introduction to his new life.
