Gordo Roll Over Romeo

Squishy face and a soft spot for belly rubs... this is Gordo, and yes, his name fits him in the sweetest, most endearing way. Not a big boy, just a big head and a body that you want to hug a little longer. He's about 69 lbs. of American Bully goodness, and while breed is our best guess, his vibe is unmistakable... gentle, thoughtful, and quietly charming. Gordo is a relaxed, low-energy guy who is built for the go-with-the-flow lifestyle, with the perfect touch of goofiness. He loves toys and playing tug-o-war, but he can also easily entertain himself. He meets new dogs with friendly confidence and in playgroups, he's more of an observer than the life of the party. If another dog gets a little pushy, he handles it beautifully by just walking away or giving a small, appropriate "hey, not my thing" correction.

Ideal Home

Gordo would do best with dogs his size or larger, ideally a calm, aloof female who isn't looking for constant play. No cats for Gordo, and he'd do best with older kids while he continues learning his best manners. What he really needs is a steady, confident person who sees the dog he is becoming and wants to be part of that journey.

Ongoing Health

Gordo is up-to-date on all vaccinations and has been spayed/neutered.

Training & Support

Gordo has basic leash skills and is continuing to practice controlling his goofy side. On leash, he can be strong simply because of his size, so he'll need someone who can confidently guide him when he forgets that walks are a team activity, not a solo mission. He checks in with his person and responds well when you make it fun and engaging. He wants to learn and do the right thing in every way; he just needs someone to show him how. He is also very food motivated, which is a great training tool. It's all very workable, especially with someone familiar with bully breeds who understands how to channel that enthusiasm into more and more good habits and qualities.

Transporation

Gordo is located in Texas and transport is available nationwide for an additional $87 surcharge. Transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, and connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
