Hello there! I'm Shirley, a delightful pup with captivating eyes that change color from amber to blue to green depending on the light. My back paws have adorable white tips, like I've stepped in paint! I may be on the smaller side, but I'm mighty and not easily scared. My sister Laverne and I were rescued from a tough situation in southern Minnesota and have since been enjoying the comforts of our foster home. I'm working hard on my potty training and already know how to signal with a bell! I'm also a pro at kennel training, sleeping soundly through the night with cozy blankets and classical piano music. I'm learning "sit" and "stay," though my excitement sometimes gets the better of me. I'd love to attend puppy classes to socialize and play with other pups. Food and affection are my love languages, and I'm sure I'll do anything for a treat once I master some tricks! I live happily with my two human siblings, a 12-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, and I've met several other young humans who I'm just as excited to meet as they are me. I haven't met any cats yet, but I get along wonderfully with my resident dog siblings. Laverne, my sister, and I can be a bit dominant with each other, but I'm more submissive with our resident dogs, Blanche (a 6-year-old Pitbull/Boxer mix who enjoys her alone time) and Stanley (a 3-year-old Weimaraner/Pitbull mix who loves to play). We enjoy racing for toys, playing tug-of-war, and chasing tennis balls. I love to cuddle with any dog or human who will have me!
Why am I the very best dog in the whole world? I'm a perfect mix of spunk, sass, play, and love, and I especially love cuddling up around my human's neck. My dream day involves a whole lot of time with my human, filled with eating, napping, playing, and more napping! I'm a bit like Shirley from "Laverne & Shirley" – sweet but I can stand up for myself when needed. My favorite toys are bones and tennis balls, though I'm not picky! I enjoy a mix of cuddles and snoozes, with a little more emphasis on beauty sleep. My tail wags the hardest when my humans come home, when I'm let out of my kennel, or when food is on its way! I might even give a little bark to speed things along.
