Forever in Foster Care
Meet Reina! This sweet 8-year-old girl is a special needs darling who is not available for adoption. She's part of our "Forever Foster" program, meaning her dedicated foster family and DRM are committed to providing her with a loving home for the rest of her life. Reina was rescued from a high-kill shelter with suspected neurological issues. DRM stepped in to provide the specialized care she needs to truly thrive!
Reina was born with a condition affecting the nerve pathways from her back legs to her brain, which can sometimes cause wobbliness. She also experiences incontinence, but a special diet has significantly helped manage this. Despite these challenges, Reina is a bundle of joy! She adores snuggling with her people, enjoying a good chew bone, going for walks, and having playdates with her furry friends. Her favorite pastime might just be chasing rabbits and squirrels! When it's time to relax, she enjoys sunbathing by the window or simply hanging out with her foster family. Reina has a history of living harmoniously with other dogs and cats, though she can be quite curious about her feline companions. She's a bright spark, knows all her basic commands, and her recall is excellent (unless there's a squirrel on the loose!). She's also very food-motivated, making her eager to learn new things. Reina's sunny disposition and friendly nature make her a neighborhood favorite!

Reina would love a home where she can continue to enjoy snuggling, play, and explore her yard. She's done well with other dogs and can be curious about cats.
