Meet Baxter!

Baxter is a charming 5-year-old shepherd/lab/kelpie mix, weighing in at around 65 lbs. After over a year in a kennel, he's ready to find his forever family. He's a loving and playful boy who adores being close to his people. Baxter's favorite things include a good game of fetch, squeaky rope toys, car rides, and generous belly rubs. Don't let his size fool you; he'll happily try to snuggle up on your lap! He walks nicely on a leash, knows the "leave it" command, and is friendly with people of all ages and other dogs, though he does appreciate calmer playmates.

Ideal Home

Baxter would thrive in a home where he can be near his people. He's a well-behaved boy at home and enjoys sleeping close by. An experienced owner who can provide separate feeding locations would be ideal, as he can be protective of food and toys with other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Baxter's adoption fee covers age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment. He is kept up-to-date on heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Baxter knows "leave it" and walks well on a leash. He is still working on his resource guarding with other dogs and would benefit from an owner experienced in managing this.
