Meet Daisy Duke!
If you’re a sucker for a pup with a wiggly little rump, a cute nub tail, and a heart full of love, congratulations… you just found your girl. Daisy is around 2 years old and 48 pounds of pure joy. She somehow ended up at one of the highest kill shelters in Houston, but thankfully, one of our volunteers spotted her and was immediately smitten. When Daisy landed on the euthanasia list just a week later, we knew we had to bring her to safety. Now she’s thriving in a foster home and ready to find the forever family she deserves.
Daisy absolutely adores people and lights up anytime she meets another dog. She has an instant "OMG, let's play!" puppy-like excitement with every furry friend she meets. Her foster sibling, a 2-year-old cattle dog, became her bestie immediately. Whatever her breed mix, she's a medium-energy girl who is happy to join you for walks, hikes, and adventures, but equally content to curl up for a cozy night afterward. She occasionally lets out the cutest little hound-style howl, which makes us think there might be some beagle in her, possibly blended with Aussie or heeler.
Ideal Home
Daisy would thrive with another playful dog in her forever home, though she’d also do just fine with regular social time and adventures with other pups. We aren’t sure how she feels about cats, but she does show a bit of prey drive for squirrels on walks.
Ongoing Health
Daisy is up to date on all vaccinations and spayed.
Training & Support
Daisy is potty trained and walks nicely on leash. She can be a little timid in the car at first, likely because she worries she’s being abandoned again, but with love and reassurance, she’s learning those scary days are behind her forever.
