Scout is a sweet, playful, and affectionate 3-4 year old male Rat Terrier weighing approximately 14 lbs. He's a dog full of personality who loves to run, play, and be close to his people. Scout genuinely enjoys both giving and receiving affection, making him a wonderful companion. He is very sociable and gets along well with other dogs, children, men, and women, making him an easy fit for many families. Scout was rescued after being attacked by larger dogs on the street. Thankfully, he only sustained a few scratches and, despite being scared, allowed himself to be gently picked up. He has shown incredible resilience and a loving spirit ever since and is now safe, healthy, and ready for a new chapter.
Ideal Home
Scout would thrive in an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a securely fenced backyard. He needs a home with owners who have experience in dog behavior and training or are willing to hire a trainer. A family with high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies is essential.
Ongoing Health
Scout has received comprehensive medical care, including being spayed/neutered, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and microchipped. He has also tested negative for heartworm and 4DX, and is on monthly preventive protection (Nexgard Spectra). A health certificate and vaccination booklet are available.
Training & Support
It's important to understand that rescued dogs like Scout may not be house-trained and might require an adjustment period. Patience, understanding, and establishing a routine with clear boundaries will be crucial in helping Scout build trust and overcome any past trauma. Owners should be prepared to invest in his ongoing training and rehabilitation.

Transporation
Scout is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast. Transportation is available door-to-door for a fee of $400 USD. This service includes scheduled trips with a partnered transport company, all necessary legal documents, and real-time updates throughout the journey.
