Meet Ontario! This pretty lady was found as a stray in Philly and now waits for her forever family. She's a sensitive girl and a bit overwhelmed in the shelter but super sweet andd cuddly! She's quickly stolen the hearts of multiple volunteers.

Behavior Notes: Behavior Eval 5/25/2026: Kennel Presentation: Greeted me with a loose and wiggly body and very easily leashed her on the first try.

Leash Skills: Walks nicely with just minimal pulling. When we got outside, there were a few other dogs out there and she was very eager to pull towards them, however I wanted to evaluate her first so we went the other way.

Sociability: Seems very treat motivated and tries sniffing them out wherever she can. Seems very trainable as she is very treat motivated! She went up and over the A-frame. Takes treats incredibly gently out of my hand. Took pets from me all over and very sweet with her handler. Went into the volunteer office and met multiple new handlers who she took pets from with a very loose body! There are notes in her profile that she doesn't like her face touch. However, she was soliciting out pets with her face first and seemed OK with it being touched.

Play: Not much play today

Dog Interaction: She had a dog meet with a dog who came on and eagerly and she was a bit stiff but pretty tolerant overall. She did try to hump him at one point. He tried to hump her and she gave him a good correction. We tried to do another dog meet with another dog who came on really strong and she gave a bit of a growl and bark so we ended it as she seemed a little stressed out.

Return to Kennel: No issues returning to kennel

Color Level: Giving experience gold just due to these intake notes to be safe however she was more of a green/gold level dog behaviorally

Per Staff 5/24/2026: Came into exam room with loose body, soft eyes, wagging tail. Upon attempt at exam and restraint, began bucking and growling. Elected to stop attempt at exam at this time, starting behavior medication for next 3 days to help with FAS, attempt exam tomorrow.

Per Staff 5/22/2026: Does Not like anybody in or near her face. Will need to muzzle for restraining, but is highly food motivated.
