About Triton

Triton arrived as a stray, his path to us a little uncertain due to matting and a unique way of walking. Thankfully, a kind rescue partner stepped in, got him cleaned up, and saw his potential. We were so happy to welcome him into our care. Triton's distinctive gait is due to a birth defect where both his femurs are curved, causing his knees to turn outward. While he moves around quite well on his own, the extra wear and tear has led to arthritis. He's currently on daily anti-inflammatories to manage this, and while a wheelchair might be in his future, he's happily mobile for now! Triton isn't a big walker, but he absolutely adores belly rubs and being close to his people. He's a mellow fellow with occasional bursts of playful energy, especially around dinnertime, which is his favorite part of the day! He enjoys toys but has a tendency to eat them, so plush toys aren't recommended. However, he's quite content with a good chew bone. Could you offer Triton a loving home?

Ideal Home

A home where Triton can enjoy lots of belly rubs and close companionship. He needs a safe space where plush toys are kept out of reach.

Ongoing Health

Triton has arthritis due to a birth defect affecting his femurs and knees. He is currently managed with daily anti-inflammatories. He may require a wheelchair in the future, but is mobile on his own for the foreseeable future.

Training & Support

Triton loves to play with toys but also likes to eat them, so plush toys should be avoided. He enjoys chew bones.
