Meet Layla, a stunning 5-year-old pup with a beautiful light brown coat, large, attentive ears, and a heart overflowing with love! We believe she might be a Shepherd-Pitty mix, but what's certain is that she's one of the sweetest souls you'll ever encounter. Layla is a bit shy initially and takes her time to warm up to new people. However, once she trusts you, her tail starts wagging, her eyes sparkle, and she showers you with quiet, devoted affection. She's a gentle spirit who loves to snuggle close and offer silent companionship.
Layla is a canine enthusiast and absolutely thrives with a doggy friend! She's social, friendly, and polite with other dogs, happily snuggling, relaxing, or walking alongside her canine pals. An ideal companion for Layla would be a calm, male dog who can help her feel secure and confident. She's not looking for a high-energy playmate, but rather a best friend for life. Layla is also cat-tolerant, giving kitties their space while coexisting peacefully. She'd do best with older children, around 8 years and up, due to her sensitivity to new people and touch. If you have younger kids, a meet-and-greet can help determine if Layla feels comfortable.
Ideal Home
Layla would be happiest in a home where she can decompress, feel safe, and let her personality shine at her own pace. She may need a little time to build confidence in new environments, especially for apartment living, but once settled, she'll be a quiet and loving companion. Her perfect family will understand her gentle, sensitive nature and give her the time she needs to trust. She absolutely needs a dog friend to share her life with. A calm home with older children or adults who appreciate slow snuggles, gentle pets, and peaceful companionship would be ideal.

Layla may need some assistance building leash confidence in new places. Her foster has successfully worked with her on building trust and affection.

Transporation
Layla is currently in Texas and can be transported nationwide through our rescue's USDA-certified transport system. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada. Transport includes real-time tracking, photo updates, and a dedicated Facebook event page for adopters. A $87 surcharge applies to transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
