Pierre

Pierre is a 3-year-old cream-colored French Bulldog with a touch of gold, who has clearly had a challenging start to life. Found abandoned, he was unaltered, unchipped, and bore scars that suggested a past dog attack. Despite his history, Pierre is a sweet, curious soul eager to experience love and a stable home. At 24 pounds, he recently underwent neutering and nare surgery to improve his breathing, with noticeable positive results already.

Ideal Home

Pierre would thrive with someone familiar with brachycephalic breeds or willing to learn about their specific needs. He enjoys being involved in his human's activities and is generally good with other dogs, though his social interactions can be enthusiastic. We suspect older children would be a better fit, as his energy might be overwhelming for very young ones. His comfort with cats is unknown.

Ongoing Health

Pierre is recovering well from his recent neuter and nare surgeries, which have already improved his breathing. As with many brachycephalic breeds, potential owners should be aware that these dogs can be prone to medical complications and may require specialized veterinary care.

Training & Support

Pierre's foster nickname is "Humpmeister," and it's strongly suspected he may have been used as a stud dog. While his neuter surgery will help, it can take up to two months for testosterone levels to fully decrease, so patience and management are key as he learns to moderate his enthusiastic interactions with other dogs. Supervision and confident canine corrections have been helpful, and he's learning that not every dog wants to be his friend.
