Trix is an 8-month-old, 35-pound Pitbull mix with the sweetest, smartest soul, though she's a bit shy! She and her brother were surrendered to a shelter, and while he's found his home, Trix needed extra time in foster care to build her confidence. She was undersocialized early on and is initially fearful of humans, but she has never shown any reactivity – she simply looks for a safe space when unsure. Trix is very quiet, incredibly observant, and picks things up quickly, mastering a doggy door within days. With patience and trust-building, she softens, plays with toys when she thinks no one is watching, and enjoys running and sunbathing with other dogs. She will eventually choose to curl up on the couch or sleep with her humans.
Ideal Home
Trix needs a home where someone is around more often than not, as she's still a puppy and building trust takes time and consistency. She is not a ready-made confident dog and will require patience, compassion, and commitment. She would thrive with a confident canine companion to follow and learn from, but adopters without another dog should have a thoughtful plan for socialization and confidence-building.
Ongoing Health
Trix is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. She is housebroken and loves her crate.
Training & Support
Trix is learning to walk on a leash. She has been around children and was shy at first. Her history with cats is unknown. She is a diamond in the rough who will need a family that will help her find her courage and never give up on her.
