Scout is a handsome blue merle Miniature American Shepherd with stunning marbled blue eyes and a DOB around May 2025. Weighing in at 27 lbs, Scout is a sensitive soul who has overcome a tough past and is blossoming in a loving foster home. He's a bit shy and submissive, likely due to being the "low boy on the totem pole" in a previous situation, but he's learning to trust and is very motivated to please. Scout is a devoted companion who enjoys cuddles and staying by your side. He's a great listener and would make a wonderful confidant for quiet evenings. He's also discovering the joy of toys and playtime when no one's looking!
Ideal Home
Scout thrives in a calm environment and needs humans who are not overly intrusive or have a wildly social lifestyle. A home that is more like a peaceful sanctuary than "Grand Central Station" would be perfect for him. He needs a home with another energetic dog of similar temperament to be his friend and guide, as he needs the companionship of a settled, gentle canine playmate. Due to his need for a calm environment and potentially overwhelming fast movements, he would do best in a home without children under eight years old. Scout might be fine with cats if they are experienced with dogs and can teach him how to behave around them.

Scout is current on vaccinations, neutered, heartworm free and on preventative, and has been microchipped and wormed.
Training & Support
Scout is smart, food-motivated, and a quick learner, making him a joy to train. He is getting the hang of using a doggy door for house training. As a herding breed, he requires consistent training and socialization to help him reach his full potential. Patience and a commitment to understanding his breed's needs will be key to his success.
