About Honey

Honey is a sweet 3-year-old, 60-pound female chocolate Lab mix who is spayed. She came to us after being found at a fire department and was noted to be pregnant upon intake. Honey gave birth to four healthy puppies on July 28th and has been an absolutely outstanding mama! She recently joined our Lab Rescue program and has been living in a Tiburon foster home where she's been showering her pups with love and care.

Ideal Home

Honey is an incredibly intelligent, sensitive, and eager-to-please dog who would thrive in a home with space for her to run and dig. She's also a big snuggler and would love to curl up on the couch with her people. She does have some stress chewing/digging when left alone, so a home where someone is around often would be ideal. While she hasn't been exposed to very young children, she has been good with calm children around 10 years old who have prior dog experience. She does not like baths or squeaky toys.

Ongoing Health

Honey is currently being treated for an ear infection. She is up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She is a little sensitive about her hindquarters, but not in an aggressive way.

Training & Support

Honey is a quick learner and has already mastered pottying in a designated area, coming when called, sitting, and patiently waiting for food. She takes treats gently and has learned not to counter surf, though she will still look in the garbage for tasty morsels and bury high-value toys/treats. She is not completely housebroken yet. She is alert and enjoys doing "security rounds" of the yard.
