About Navajo (Nav)
Navajo, a 6.5-year-old, 75-pound Pitbull mix, is a sweet, affectionate, and easygoing pup looking for his forever home! He's the perfect blend of playful energy and relaxed companionship, happy to join you for a daily walk or curl up for a cozy evening. Navajo enjoys playing with other dogs, particularly in one-on-one or small group settings, and he's generally good at reading social cues, though he might need gentle redirection when he gets too excited. He's done well with dogs of all sizes, but he tends to feel most comfortable with dogs his own size or smaller, and proper introductions will help him succeed with larger dogs. He's a polite and non-reactive dog on leash, only pulling a little when initially excited. Navajo is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and he can be left alone loose in the house with no signs of separation anxiety. He's calm, chill, and easy to live with, and he greets strangers with friendliness. He has also done well around children and would likely thrive in a home with them, though interactions with very young children haven't been fully tested. Navajo is a champion cuddler who loves being close to his people and adores toys, often greeting his humans with his favorite stuffed animal. He's an excellent car rider, a favorite at the vet, has no issues with stairs, and enjoys napping in unusual spots like laundry baskets! Navajo has shown no resource guarding with food, treats, toys, or people. He arrived in foster care needing dental work, and several damaged teeth, including his canines, were removed. His remaining teeth are healthy, and he still happily chews his favorite bones.
Ideal Home
Navajo would thrive in a stable, moderately active home that enjoys daily walks, occasional outings, and lots of affection. He doesn't need an ultra-active lifestyle, just consistent exercise, love, and companionship. He could do well as an only dog or with a compatible canine friend. Navajo would do best in a cat-free home as he has shown a strong prey drive towards cats.
Ongoing Health
Navajo had dental work completed, including the removal of several damaged teeth, including his canines. His remaining teeth are healthy.
Training & Support
Navajo is fully house-trained and crate-trained. He may need gentle redirection when he gets overly excited during play with other dogs.
