Meet Michelle! This delightful 3-year-old spayed female Staffordshire Terrier mix, weighing around 48 pounds, is a true gem. Rescued from a high-kill shelter, Michelle is now thriving in a foster home in Houston, Texas, and is eager to find her forever family. She's incredibly friendly, affectionate, and social, especially with other dogs. Michelle loves to play and nap with her canine companions, and while she can get a little enthusiastic due to her size, she's a quick learner and adjusts her play style wonderfully.
Ideal Home
Michelle would thrive in a home with another friendly dog and a family that can offer her love, structure, and playtime. She has met children ages 8 and up and has been sweet and loving, but due to her tendency to jump when excited, we recommend a home with children 12+ or dog-savvy teens who can handle her exuberance. She would do great in an apartment or urban setting as long as she gets consistent exercise and enrichment. A secure yard or leash walks are a must, as she is an escape artist who can scale fences.
Ongoing Health
Michelle is a healthy girl who has been spayed.
Training & Support
Michelle is fully housebroken, crate trained, and enjoys spending time in her crate. She is very food motivated and learns quickly. However, she can be a bit sneaky with food, so she is fed separately and benefits from guidance during snack times. She responds well to redirection. Michelle walks fairly well on leash but tends to pull; continued leash training and structure will help her improve. She loves to chew, especially on outdoor items, so supervision and crate time when unsupervised are important.
