Scooter Pie is my name and I am just as sweet as my name sounds! I am a wonky, little bully who doesn't let my condition slow me down. My back legs are deformed and I move a little awkwardly. My previous backyard breeder wanted to make me low to the ground with wide shoulders and a tiny waist, but when their experiment failed, I was discarded to fend for myself all alone. Animal Control officers found me eating trash and dragging my back end on the side of the road. Since coming to MVPC, I've seen the vet and gone to PT. I am not in any pain and would benefit from continuing PT. I love the water and am getting stronger and better every day. I love to play with jolly balls and herding balls. I am good with other dogs, small and large, and I love all my humans. Belly rubs are my favorite!
Ideal Home
A home with dog experience is required. A securely fenced yard is a must (an electric fence is not an acceptable form of containment). Scooter Pie is good with other dogs, including a male dog in the home for socialization, and can also live with cats with supervision. Children 8 and over are welcome.
Ongoing Health
Scooter Pie's back legs are deformed, and he moves a little awkwardly. He is not in any pain, but would benefit from continuing physical therapy. He is heartworm-tested and on prevention, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Scooter Pie is working on his leash skills and basic commands. He is doing well in his crate and with potty training. He does love to chew, so only hard toys are recommended for him.
