Charming Chido

From the streets outside of Houston to a snuggly bed inside your home, this boy has come a long way. Despite his difficult past, Chido continues to put faith in people and other animals, showing his gentle nature with his love for cats. He makes friends easily with animals and people alike. Chido loves short walks, playing with toys, and sleeping – he's quite the napper! He is gentle with children and most dogs. Chido is dog selective, but if other dogs don't try to dominate him or jump on him, they will get along just fine.

Ideal Home

Chido deserves a patient household, ideally with someone who works from home or is retired to keep him company. He suffers from separation anxiety and would love a relaxed companion to hang out with. Chido is an inside companion and not an outside dog.

Ongoing Health

Chido is heartworm positive and is currently on slow-kill medication, which is a low-cost monthly pill. He should be tested annually to monitor his heartworms. Chido also suffers from occasional hip arthritis, which can make it difficult for him to move initially. This has only occurred twice since he has been in foster care and is believed to stem from an old injury. X-rays showed inflammation but no broken bones. Aside from the heartworm diagnosis, Chido is a healthy and loving companion.

Training & Support

Chido walks well on a leash, knows basic commands, and is potty trained.
